**Howard Cafe Attendant**

**Permanent, Part-Time (0.60 FTE) starting January 2025**

Under the direction of the Manager of Purchasing and Ancillary Services, is responsible for the daily operations of the school café. The Howard Café operates during the school year when classes are in session. The café offers coffee, baked goods and ready-to-go meals. The Attendant works closely with Senior School students who assist in running the Café.

**Work Schedule**:
Regular hours of work are 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM on all school days, and some additional days at the start and end of the school year.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Oversees the daily operations of a school coffee shop including ordering inventory and food, overseeing student assistants and preparing displays.
- Provides service at the Cafe counter, fulfilling orders and accepting payment.
- Places food orders from third party providers.
- Receives daily food orders.
- Conducts regular inventory.
- Utilizes software to keep track of revenue and expenditures
- Prepares foods such as coffee, tea and smoothies.
- Maintains a clean, hygienic, Food Safe standard environment.
- Supervises and mentors students who work at various times in the café.
- Experience operating a café or restaurant, with responsibility for both the business and food services portions of the operations.
- Experience working with young adults and building positive relationships.
- Food Safe Level 1 certification.
- Experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), point of sales systems and other software.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail, organization and planning

**Pay Range**:
Hourly pay range: $23.34 - $27.46.

**Criminal Record Check**:
Must pass and maintain a clear Solicitor General criminal record check for the purpose of working with children.
