ABB Smart Buildings digitally transforms commercial, industrial and residential buildings for the highest comfort, efficiency, safety and security - enhancing quality of life in buildings of the future through safe, smart and sustainable electrification solutions, services and products. Based in Ville St-Laurent, Québec, the quality & opex specialist reports to the production manager. He is responsible for deploying and supporting a culture of quality, by ensuring and controlling quality with systems and tools to exceed customer expectations, while ensuring sustainable operations. He participates in the support and maintenance of the quality management system of the local unit, as well as in the optimization of the assembly processes and method mapping.
**Your responsibilities**:
- Represent the voice of the customer within local teams. Challenge teams by informing them of the customer experience and helping them make decisions. Enable and train employees to assess the risks, problems, and solutions from the customer's perspective.
- Ensure that the production methods, cycle times, equipment performance, and materials/components are appropriate to achieve the production objectives.
- Identify and recommend opportunities for improvement and implement improvement projects, while ensuring compliance with the requirements regarding deadlines, quality, and costs (use of 5s methods, kaizen, lean, etc.).
- Define the sequence of the work phases of a new production process in order to achieve the targeted efficiency and cycle time.
- Provide production support during the start-up of processes/equipment, by defining action plans and training the relevant production resources.
- Perform audits and use data analyses on the quality of all parts of the operation to identify the risks, faults, and non-conformities within local operations and suppliers.
**Your background**:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (industrial, operations, and logistics, or equivalent).
- 2 to 3 years of experience.
- Oriented toward continuous improvement - L6S yellow belt (green belt an asset).
- General computer knowledge (Office Suite, Office 365).
- Spoken and written communication skills.
- Capacity for synthesis and ability to clearly communicate concepts in writing.
- Bilingual (French and English).
