We are hiring a Full Time Hourly General Maintenance Technician who will support the general running and property maintenance of all Andrew Peller Locations in Niagara on the Lake - including Riverbend Inn, Peller Estates, Wayne Gretzky Estates and Trius Winery. This is a rare opportunity to fill a position of someone retiring and join a strong and stable company and team. In this role you will be responsible for efficient completion of related building checks, work orders, working efficiently and effectively with maintenance staff members in the operation of the maintenance department by always maintaining a safe and workable environment. You will communicate directly to senior leadership on estates and report to the General Manager of the Riverbend Inn.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for completing Work Orders and reviewing them with the supervisor.
- Responsible for completing requisitions for supplies, tools and spare parts.
- Works with supervisor to ensure all preventive maintenance is performed on schedule.
- Adheres to all Safety Policies and Procedures.
- Reports on equipment complete with recommendations to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Welding and fabrication.
- Maintain quality standards.
- Inspects and ensures work completed meets the requirements of Government Standards.
- Demonstrates excellent housekeeping abilities.
- Ensure safe working practices are adhered to and reports any unsafe practice to the maintenance supervisor
- Diagnose and make repairs and adjustments to plant equipment.
- Assures repairs of all property and equipment to company policy and Government regulations, reports any non-compliance’s to Maintenance Supervisor.

- Follows safe work procedures and practices and reports all unsafe working conditions / hazards to their reporting Manager.

WORKING CONDITIONS
- Trouble shoot and solve problems as they arise with a calm and involving approach
- Work in a safe efficient manner
- Attention to detail
- Interfaces and communicates with other plant employees and supervisors
- Provided with the necessary tools and working area to perform repairs.
- May be required to work outdoors.
- Hours and days of work vary, and some overtime may be required
- Collaborate with other departments
- Adhere to company policies
- The work environment may be noisy; some lifting may be required more than 20 kg.
- Prolonged standing will be required and walking within the plant and grounds environment.
- Ability to respond to environment changes

EDUCATION
- Oral and written communication
- Proficient in general plumbing and drywall repairs
- Mechanical ability
- Related industry background
- Forklift and Man Lift certification a benefit. Will train if required
