Deskside Support Technicians

The **Deskside Support Technician** will be responsible for **migrating end-user devices from Windows 10 to Windows 11** while ensuring a seamless transition with mínimal disruption. This role requires **strong technical troubleshooting skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to travel across Ontario** for onsite support. The technician will validate device functionality, troubleshoot issues, and escalate complex problems as needed.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- ** Windows 11 Migration Support**:
- Assist end users in **migrating laptops, desktops, and tablets from Windows 10 to Windows 11**.
- Validate functionality of peripherals including **printers, docking stations, and USB devices**.
- Perform **post-migration testing** to ensure systems are fully operational.
- **
Technical Troubleshooting & Support**:
- Provide **deskside and remote support** for end-users experiencing migration issues.
- Troubleshoot **hardware, software, and connectivity issues**.
- Document all issues and resolutions in **ServiceNow or other ITSM platforms**.
- Escalate unresolved technical challenges to the Lead Analyst or Project Manager.
- **
Customer Service & Communication**:
- Deliver **high-quality support** while maintaining professionalism and a customer-first approach.
- Build strong relationships with users and ensure they have a seamless migration experience.
- **
Process Optimization & Documentation**:
- Identify areas for **process improvement** and contribute ideas to streamline the migration initiative.
- Assist in the **creation and maintenance of knowledge base articles** for future reference.
- **
Travel & Logistics**:
- Be available to **travel across Ontario** to various office locations.
- Stay overnight as required to support migrations in multiple locations.
- Ensure compliance with **client security clearance requirements**.
**Required Qualifications**:
- ** Technical Experience**:
- ** 2+ years** of experience in **Deskside Support or Service Desk operations**.
- Hands-on experience with **Windows OS (Windows 10 & 11)**.
- Experience with **ITIL-based ITSM tools (ServiceNow preferred)**.
- Knowledge of **device management, screen sharing, and troubleshooting** common IT issues.
- **
Soft Skills**:
- ** Exceptional customer service** and interpersonal skills.
- Strong **verbal and written communication skills**.
- Ability to **remain calm under pressure** and work effectively in **fast-paced environments**.
- **
Additional Requirements**:
- ** Valid Ontario driver’s license**.
- Ability to **travel across Ontario**, including **overnight stays**.
- Ability to **lift up to 20 lbs** unassisted.
- ** Ability to obtain and maintain client Security Clearance**.
- ** Willingness to work outside regular business hours** as required.

The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $30.05/hour - $46.95/hour. Our benefits include medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits.
