Overview

Are you curious about how generative AI is reshaping the world of work today?

The successful applicant will join the _Worker Experiences in the Age of Generative AI: A Study of Cognitive Labour in Canada_ project, under the supervision of Dr. Alex Miltsov. This research explores why and how some workers are being replaced by generative AI, how senior managers make these decisions, and what the emotional, financial, and professional consequences are for displaced workers. **Follow the link to learn more about the project**.**

As a Master’s student, you will design your own research project aligned with the broader objectives of the study. You will also take part in various aspects of the project—from developing survey questions and analyzing data to participating in knowledge mobilization activities.

This is a unique opportunity to join an international, multidisciplinary research team to study how emerging technologies are transforming labour and employment

**Funding**: You will receive a Research Assistantship of $11,000 per year, funding for conference participation, and access to additional internal and external funding opportunities.

**Start Date**: January 1, 2026 (September 2026 start also possible).
