**Job Summary**
APEX Canine Training Academy is looking for passionate, skilled dog trainers to join our Brantford team.

Since 2018, we’ve built a strong reputation across the GTA and Southwestern Ontario for our relationship-based approach to dog training. We specialize in behavioural modification for reactive, anxious, and aggressive dogs, and we’re committed to helping build lasting, respectful relationships between dogs and their handlers.

We are currently hiring a **Dog Trainer** to work out of our **Brantford Facility**. This position involves training dogs enrolled in our Board and Train programs. You’ll play a vital role in shaping behaviour and supporting long-term success for both dog and handler.

**Duties**
- Conduct daily structured training sessions using APEX’s relationship-based methods
- Conduct public access training in real-world environments (e.g., parks, plazas, pet stores)
- Provide kennel support: feeding, cleaning, grooming, administering meds (if required), enrichment
- Maintain clear and professional training notes for each dog, reporting to the Kennel Manager
- Maintain cleanliness, structure, and safety in all training and kennel spaces
- Participate in go-home sessions with clients to transfer training and educate owners
- Work closely with the training team to review behaviour plans and ensure consistency
- Participate in weekly team meetings and case reviews

**Experience**
- Previous experience in dog training or professional dog handling (required)
- Valid G-class driver's license (required)
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Comfortable handling dogs of all sizes and temperaments
- Commitment to humane, structured, relationship-based training practices
- Ability to perform heavy lifting related to training equipment or supplies.
- Strong customer service skills are essential for building rapport with clients and their pets.

Licence/Certification:

- First Aid Certification (preferred)
