After School Life is seeking reliable, dynamic, and team-oriented Program Leaders to join our team. Our Program Leaders are responsible for leading and implementing our **Kids** **Yoga** after-school programs for Elementary & Middle school children.
**Job Summary**:
A part-time job is responsible for studying the provided curriculum and teaching the children for each given week. Strong time management skills are required as our teachers are expected to start and finish on time while also covering everything that is in the curriculum for that specific session. When teaching a class, maintaining class order is important, as it allows coaches to demonstrate the skills without distractions - resulting in the kids understanding better.
**Main Responsibilities**:
- **Design and Implement Age-Appropriate Workouts**:Create fun and engaging yoga workouts tailored to the age and skill level of the children.
**Lead Group Classes**:Instruct and lead Yoga classes for kids, emphasizing proper form, technique, and safety.
**Provide Motivation and Encouragement**:Inspire children to push themselves and achieve their Yoga goals in a supportive and encouraging manner.
**Ensure Safety and Supervision**:Maintain a safe training environment, closely monitoring each child's movements and ensuring they use equipment correctly.
**Promote Teamwork and Sportsmanship**:Instill values of teamwork, sportsmanship, and fair play, creating a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
**Modify Workouts for Individual Needs**:Adapt workouts for children with varying Yoga levels and abilities to ensure everyone benefits from the program.
**Track Progress and Provide Feedback**:Monitor each child's progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve their performance.
- Friendly and respect school's staff / parents / students
- Strictly follow school's protocols and instructions
- Arrive on time (15 minutes before each session), flexible, good with kids, high commitment
- Maintain daily attendance records
**Qualifications and Requirements**:
- Must be at least 19 years of age
- Profession and proven knowledge of Kids **Yoga** with at least 2 years teaching experience
- Knowledge of working with children, social and emotional learning, physical literacy, group management, behavior management, and counseling
- Experience in planning and leading activities for groups of children in a recreational setting
- Current criminal record check (or willing to consent)
**Hours of Work**:
This is a part-time contract position working weekday afternoon shifts (must be available between 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm), for up to 10 hours per week at schools in **Tri-Cities** area.
