Burnaby - Box Bus Purolator Class 5 Driver

Box Bus has immediate openings for full-time, permanent independent contractor drivers.
This position requires an independent contractor with their own **mini-van or cargo van.** (No cars or SUVs)
Deliveries are either within the Burnaby, Tri-cities, and North & West Vancouver but in one small zone each day, not all over the place. Typical km/day is 75-100 as the routes are dense. 11 am start time, 6-8 hour days. Monday through Friday every week. There is also occasional Purolator work Saturdays from the Richmond Warehouse
- The commission is 80% of the Gross Rate. A typical day is 80-100 stops ~$320-$400/day.
- That works out to $40-$50 per hour typically. 6-8 Hour days.
- Plus bonuses during the current Peak season.
- Essential worker position, so you'll have work even if another lockdown occurs.
- Monday to Friday job with weekend work available as well.
**Requirements**:
- Safety Vest (Class 2), and Hard-toes Shoes/boots. (100% Mandatory at Warehouse, not on road)
- Winter / All-Weather Tires (Not All-Season)
- Must provide a vehicle for the work. Cargo Van / Minivan. (Cars and SUVs are too small)
- Can safely get in and out of your van multiple times a day.
- Have a smartphone with a data plan.
- 25+ years of age (For Insurance)
- Have a valid BC Class 5 driver's license (No N)
- Relatively clean driver abstract.
- No DUI/DWI or suspensions within five previous years.
- Able to pass a criminal background check.
- Excellent English communication skills
**Preferred**:
- 1+ year of courier experience in the GVA.
- Customer service background.
- A can-do attitude.
- Time management skills.
