Our Client is seeking a VDC Modeler for their Vancouver office located in Coquitlam, BC

**ABOUT THE POSITION**
- The VDC Modeler will work with the BIM Manager, BIM Coordinator(s), Project Manager(s), System Designers, and Site Foreperson(s) to create accurate Mechanical Systems Fabrication Models, Layout Drawings and Fabrication Spool Drawings associated with their assigned Projects. The mechanical models and fabrication spool sheets will be primarily created using Autodesk Revit, MSuite BIMPro, and Trimble Sysque.
- Implement and follow all VDC Modeler responsibilities, quality requirements in accordance the most current PML Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documents. Complete the checklists for each milestone issue of the model and construction documents for review the site and file completed on the server with date and drawing issue.
- Review and understand the Project Scope based on Mechanical Specifications, Drawings and BIM execution plan(s).
- Request, review, and implement Approved Equipment Shop Drawings from the Project Management. Complete shop drawing checklist spreadsheet.
- Attend coordination, design/ fabrication, and site meetings for assigned projects.
- Produce layout drawings and TFL files for Trimble Total Station.
- Conduct field reviews to verify mechanical installations and confirm as-built conditions.
- Provide 3D Models in Navis format for review by the Site Foreperson and PM.
- Assist in the design and layout of Mechanical Rooms.
- Communicate with the PM, verbally and written when the Project is complete at each phase.
- Prepare Project Work Schedules to schedule when each phase of each Project will occur and time allocation (hours) for each area being modelled.
- Project Work Schedule to be updated every week to reflect the “work completed”.
- Coordinate production of documents to meet allocated hours.
- Provide accurate Spool drawings to the Fabrication Shop
- Provide a set of dimensioned drawings with each floor layout, equipment and piping.
- Identify potential clash detection of pipes & communicate with PM’s for RFI’s.
- Troubleshoot software issues.
- Creation and maintenance of the template files to assure standards.

**Measures of Success**
- Meet the deadline dates for BIM deliverables at each project milestone and to stay within hours budgeted by Estimating to complete each phase.
- Providing complete accurate layout drawings (without errors) on time, to meet Construction deadlines laid out by the Project Manager.
- Fabrication spool drawing deliverables uploaded and provided to the Fabrication Shop within the established project deadlines.
- Update Details, Assemblies & Library Items, to enhance the efficiencies for the next project. Provide a list of these efficiencies at the Scorecard Review.

**Must Have**:

- Mechanical Engineering Degree OR 3rd year or higher in the trade apprenticeship.
- Modeling Software experience (3D)
- Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings
- AutoCAD, Revit, BIMPro, BIM360
- HVAC project work
