**POSITION: REGISTERED PRACTICAL NURSE**
- **Emergency Department & Inpatient Unit**_

- Regular Part-Time x2_
- **REPORTS TO**:_ _Manager, Emergency Department & Inpatient Unit - Seaforth_
- **DATE REQUIRED**:_ _As soon as possible_
- **SALARY**:_ _$34.97 to $37.05 per hour_**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Current Certificate of Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario_
- **EXPERIENCE**:_
- Minimum of two (2) years recent nursing experience in an acute care setting preferred with the ability to work to full scope of practice as defined by the College of Nurses of Ontario_
- Completion of a 12 lead ECG interpretation and basic cardiac arrhythmia interpretation courses_
- Current BLS certification_
- Medication Administration_
- Completion of IV Therapy course_
- Completion of IV Start course or equivalent including flushing of PRN adaptors_
- Insertion of Nasogastric (NG) tubes_
- Subcutaneous portal insertion and drug administration_
- Experience working with adult and paediatric populations_
- Knowledge of Medical, Surgical, Orthopedic, Paediatric, Gyn/ Obstetric and Mental Health nursing_
- Medication Administration_
- **SKILLS**:_
- Skilled in Medication Administration and IV drug administration_
- Subcutaneous port insertion and drug administration_
- Experience in cardiac care, wound and burn care, insertion of gastric tubes_
- Demonstrated ability to manage a mixed inpatient caseload including acute care, complex continuing care, rehabilitation, and palliative_
- Skill in assessment, planning, implementing and evaluation of patient care in compliance to CNO scope of practice_
- Accountable for patient outcomes within the CNO scope of practice_
- Demonstrated experience utilizing proper body mechanics when lifting and transferring patients_
- Experience conducting patient education_
- Ability to plan and organize with good critical thinking, interpersonal, communication, facilitation and problem solving skills_
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and function both independently and interdependently with the interprofessional care team_
- Evidence of ongoing professional development/ continuing education and participation in quality assurance activities_
- Well developed verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills_
- Strong interest in interprofessional practice and patient centered care_
- Demonstrated good attendance record_
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position_
