**The Job - Contents Technician/Cleaner/Packer/Mover**

At On Side, Contents Technicians show up every day with a can-do attitude and desire to help. This team does vital work helping clients save precious possessions and memories with empathy, compassion, and hard work.

When disaster strikes, Contents Technician teams are deployed to restore order out of chaos and clean up the aftermath. Working on site and in the On Side warehouse means no day or disaster is ever the same.

**Contents Technicians are responsible for**:

- Working with customers to restore personal and commercial items to pre-disaster state
- Packing and cataloging contents from disaster affected areas and creating inventory lists
- Wrapping, packing and moving contents
- Using Encircle Restoration Software
- Pre and post construction cleaning
- Cleaning contents and structures
- Cleaning fabrics and têxtiles

**What you bring**:

- Previous restoration industry experience with contents and attention to detail
- An optimistic outlook and a real desire to help
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Physically fit (ability to lift, carry and pack boxes, move furniture and appliances) and willingness to follow all company safety requirements
- Valid driver’s licence & clean drivers abstract
- Able to successfully satisfy On Side’s criminal record check requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (spoken and written)

**Of Note**

Disasters can strike at any time so a rotating schedule of 24/7 after hours on-call work is a requirement.

Pay: $21.00-$23.00 per hour

- Restoration work can be dirty. Flooded basements and sewer backups are the norm. Are you able and willing to work in these conditions?
- Are you fluent reading / writing/ speaking English? If no, please rank your skills out of 10 (1 is basic, 10 is fluent)
- Are you comfortable driving a large cube van/fleet vehicle around the city and parking in residential streets? If you are not experienced, are you willing to learn? Please explain:

- This position requires strength and stamina, packing and moving, safe driving, detailed cleaning for pre and post construction. Are you willing to complete all required tasks as assigned?
- Are you physically fit? Can you lift 50lbs and walk upstairs when required? Are you capable of repetitive heavy lifting? Moving furniture and boxes are the norm in this position so being physically capable is a requirement.
- Are you able to work a Rotating On-Call Schedule (responding to emergency calls after hours)? This is additional to scheduled day time hours. Premium is paid.
- Are you observant and can clearly document client belongings for insurance purposes?
- Do you have experience cleaning/packing/moving contents in the restoration industry? Tell us why you would be the best person for this job.
