**Job Summary**

The Wound Care Specialist will function with a high degree of attention to detail, quality of workmanship, accuracy and ability to prioritize work in a dynamic, fast paced, team setting, often working with competing priorities. As a member of the Interprofessional Practice team, the Wound/Ostomy Care Specialist is committed to Southlake’s purpose of “Building healthy communities through outstanding care, innovative partnerships and amazing people” by living the Southlake Values and upholding the hospital Code of Conduct.

**Qualifications**
- RN certificate of competence in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- BN/BScN
- Wound Ostomy Continence Certified (C)anada (WOCC(C)) through CNA
- Recognized course in Debridement preferred
- Minimum 3 years relevant nursing experience related to wound, ostomy and skin management.
- Member of RNAO interest group, Ontario Wound Interest Group (ONTWIG) (preferred).
- Member of Nurses Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence Canada (NSWOC) (preferred).
- Member of Canadian Association of Wound Care (CAWC) (preferred).
- Demonstrated understanding of interprofessional collaboration and education.
- Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal communication, team building, and coaching skills that encourages positive interactions among all members of the health care team.
- Proven experience in needs assessment, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven experience in the planning and implementation of quality improvement projects.
- Systems level thinking and ability to think strategically.
- Demonstrated commitment to the principles of Patient and Family-Centred Care.
- Demonstrated ability to provide effective clinical practice leadership.
- Ability to work independently, be self-directed and participate in/lead interprofessional teams.
