The RA, under the direction of the Clinical Manager, is responsible for completion of professional activities that include: observe and report, treatment, education, and management of clients requiring Physiotherapy intervention, in accordance with professional standards.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supports carrying out the day to day tasks and goals as set by the rehab team.
Enables client to live independently at home and in the community through providing support.
Cues client as required for ADLs and IADLs.
Reinforces safety measures with client.
Medication monitoring, reminders, education.
Reinforces behaviour management principles and acceptable social skills.
Monitors triggers that are adverse to client’s well-being.
Supports re-integration into the community.
Observes and documents client conditions, reports unusual events or changes in the client’s condition to the rehab team and/or nursing supervisor.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Attends team meetings as requested.
Understands and implements infection prevention practices.
Participates in ongoing internal and/or external continuing education activities.
Participate in ongoing internal and/or external education activities
Adhere to Bayshore ICS Policies and Procedures
Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in keeping with the company's Quality Management System
Participate in proactive Health & Safety activities while performing all duties. Responsible to notify immediate Supervisor of any Health & Safety risks or concerns.
Maintain confidentiality of client and corporate information and discusses same only with appropriate Bayshore personnel.
Complete other tasks as requested

Job Qualification

Education
Post Secondary Education in Kinesiology or PTA/OTA.
CPR/ First Aid.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
The RA reports to the Clinical Manager, as appropriate

STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE
The RA must demonstrate ongoing competency in completing all duties and responsibilities of this job description, in response to changes by the regulating body, as well as agreed upon specific goals and objectives.

PERFORMANCE REVIEW
Performance will be reviewed on an ongoing basis with a formal review at the end of the three month probationary period and subsequently, on at least an annual basis. Input will be sought from employees and consultants at the branch and National Development Centre as applicable.
