Position summary
Reporting to the manager, diagnostic services, the quality control coordinator is responsible for coordination, management and monitoring performance of the quality control programs in the DAP. This includes established quality control (QC) programs in pulmonary function, community spirometry and home sleep apnea testing, as well as any additional QC programs determined as required to support diagnostic services.
Duties and responsibilities
**Duties include but are not limited to the following**:

- consult with DAP accreditation research and development officers, advisory committee members, and expert consultants to confirm the parameters and procedures to be included in both new and ongoing QC programs
- manage receipt of QC data and clinical cases submitted for review
- distribute final QC reports to facilities
- manage receipt of corrective action responses to nonconformances noted in the QC report
- review and distribute responses to corrective action submissions
- manage receipt and review of community spirometry initial assessment desktop audits
- maintain accurate records of QC performance to facilitate monitoring for trends, and reporting various program related key performance indicators (KPI)
- maintain document-controlled procedures for all tasks associated with the QC role
- develop new policies and procedures as required
- supports the accreditation programs internal auditing process participate in accreditation programs related to educational activities and conferences
- organize meetings and webinars
- attend meetings and functions as directed by the manager, diagnostic services
- perform related duties as assigned

Decision-making
- monitor QC performance of client organizations and ensure appropriate follow-up
- collect and analyze data for the purpose of providing ongoing QC reports and program related KPIs
- make recommendations for accreditation and QC processes to the DAP Committee

Accountability
- maintain current knowledge and monitor technological changes, trends and best practices for the QC programs
- inform the manager, diagnostic services of any quality, safety or other risk issues related to QC activities
- participate in the improvement activities for quality and safety processes provided through the accreditation programs quality improvement program

Consequence of error/judgment
- loss or inappropriate distribution of sensitive materials or critical records
- inappropriate corrective actions and activities following inaccurate data or reporting
- risk to credibility of program

Skills and qualifications
**Required skills and qualifications include**:

- undergraduate degree in health care or related field, and three to five years’ experience in health care or another regulated environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- experience with quality improvement initiatives, training or experience in quality management systems is an asset
- strong technical and computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and competent in Adobe
- able to work independently and within a team
- able to learn and manage internal software solutions
- able to prepare accurate data and reports efficiently
- strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- effective oral and written communication skills
- manage multiple streams of work and works effectively to scheduled deadlines
- engages in curiosity and continuous process improvement as appropriate
- analytical and detail-oriented

The compensation range for this position is $59,267 to $74,083.
