TRUCK & TRANSPORT APPRENTICE TECHNICIAN
**Location**: 8 Moore Rd, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia
**Position Type**: Full-time
- Permanent
- Afternoon Shift
**Reporting**: Shop Foreperson
**Hours**: Monday to Thursday, 2:00pm to 12:00am Friday, 2:00pm to 6:00pm, occasional weekends.
**Salary**: $25/h to $38/h depending on level.
Miller Waste Systems Inc. has been in operation since 1961. Miller is a leader in waste management and diversion, providing governments and industries with a wide range of services in the Provinces of Ontario, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Manitoba. Miller has over 50 years’ experience in the waste management sector, and currently operates out of more than 30 locations. We are looking for a highly capable Truck & Transport Apprentice Technician to be located out of our Dartmouth Yard, in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

**Responsibilities**:
In the position of Truck & Transport Apprentice Technician. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Must adhere to Miller Waste System safety protocols and must be familiar with occupational Health & Safety Act.
- The service and repair of all Company vehicles to ministry standards and Miller Waste standards.
- Will be required to repair and road test equipment, including hydraulics and electrical, as well as shop maintenance.
- Will be required to conduct vehicle maintenance according to established MWS policies and procedures.
- Maintain all required records and files for vehicle maintenance.
- Conduct on-road service calls, as required.

**Requirements**:

- Must have a valid driver's licence.
- You will have ability to diagnose and rectify faults, as well as experience in repairing hydraulic and electrical systems.
- Your ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment is key as well as working in a team environment.
- You must be available to work late when trucks are behind schedule, as well you may be required to work weekends and holidays.
