**Position**: Dump Truck Driver
**Location**: Toronto, GTA
**Employment Type**: Full-time

A dump truck driver operates a Triaxle truck with a pony trailer as well as a tag along equipment trailer to transport construction machinery to designated locations. You will be capable of loading materials and cargo while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and proper maintenance of the truck throughout each trip; requiring a valid AZ License and adherence to weight restrictions on transported materials.

**Main Duties**:

- Driving and operating the dump truck to construction sites, maneuvering in tight spaces, and operating the dump mechanism to unload materials at designated locations
- Coordinating with loaders to ensure proper loading of materials onto the truck, verifying the type and quantity of materials, and accurately dumping loads at the designated site
- Performing thorough inspections of the truck before and after each trip, checking fluid levels, tire pressure, lights, brakes, and overall mechanical condition
- Keeping detailed logs of deliveries, routes, hours worked, and any incidents encountered
- Following all traffic laws, load securement guidelines, and safety protocols while operating the dump truck
- Maintaining contact with dispatchers to receive delivery instructions, report any delays or issues, and coordinate schedules

Performing minor maintenance tasks like checking tire pressure, adding fluids, and cleaning the truck as needed

**Required Qualifications**:

- Full Class AZ Truck License
- Strong driving record with a clean abstract
- In-depth knowledge and practice of OSHA safety standards and precautions
- Good health and physical condition to operate heavy machinery and perform manual tasks
- Mechanical aptitude to identify potential issues with the truck
- Good communication skills to interact with dispatchers, site managers, and other personnel
- Familiar with basic operation of construction machinery
