Dynamic Earth, home of the Big Nickel, is an immersive, hands-on science centre that features earth science and mining experiences. It is also home of the Big Nickel Boutique; an upscale gift store which features unique, one-of-a-kind items sourced from local artisans as well as from around the world. We are looking for an energetic and dedicated person to complement the On-site Sales and Service team and help us achieve sales and profit goals as well as deliver exceptional customer experience in Big Nickel Boutique Gift Shop at Dynamic Earth.

**The Sales Agent will**:

- Perform opening and closing duties
- Troubleshoot errors/problems
- Operate and maintain equipment
- Handle cash transactions
- Balance cash and compile associated financial reports
- Promote and sell gift shop products
- Price new product arrivals
- Create attractive displays
- Maintain supplies and inventory
- Respond to customer concerns
- Ensure a clean, healthy and safe environment for visitors and staff
- Oversee and task sales clerks
- Support other Science North attractions and onsite businesses

**To be successful you will bring with you**:

- Demonstrated retail sales experience
- Excellent communication skills and a keen eye for detail
- A customer centeric attitude
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as with autonomy
- Strong interpersonal skills including tact, diplomacy
- An interest and ability to take on a leadership role
- Fluency in spoken and written English, French language skills considered an asset
- Daytime, evening, and weekend availability required

**Compensation Highlights**:

- Full-time, 1 year contract opportunity with possibility for renewal
