Working within a team environment, the Analyst is responsible for executing tasks assigned by the Payroll Manager. The Analyst executes the tasks assigned to him/her by following established policies and procedures, and with the guidance of the Payroll Manager/Senior Analyst/ Supervisor who assists the Analyst with the scheduling and prioritizing of work and who reviews the work, upon completion, for soundness of judgment and overall quality of work, ie, adequacy and accuracy.
Assignments typically require the Analyst to function as a Business Systems Analyst in a support role who supports all project activities related to the selection and implementation of information systems and technology.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Three year Diploma required in accounting, finance or business
- Minimum one year work experience
- Demonstrated high level of verbal and written communication skills required for moderate intra organizational contracts re. Normal business, with staff from various disciplines, who possess varying degrees of technical experience. Effective communication will include ability to translate details into appropriate level of abstraction as well as the ability to communicate technical procedures in a clear a precise manner to non-technical staff.
- Understanding of complex technical and operational concepts, principles and practices
- Ability to build consensus by listening and understanding different points of view, proposing acceptable alternatives and influencing people’s opinions.
- Experience in facilitation of design sessions; a strong influencer capable of shaping opinions and achieving consensus.
- Ability to manage through ambiguity and complexity.
- Capable of finding creative alternatives that satisfy the needs of key stakeholders.
- A team player, willing to go the extra mile to ensure team and project success
- Determination to overcome challenges and deliver results within the established timelines
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Understand and document the existing business processes, using business process design tools such as process flow diagrams
- Develop expert knowledge of the new system and of the business processes the system supports and of vendor recommended best practices
- Analyzes, assesses and documents customer requirements - produces written abstracts
- Identifies information and data requirements necessary to define solutions
- In cases where new business processes cannot be designed to exactly fit the vendor recommended best practices, document the gaps, create a strategy to bridge the gap, obtain approval for any necessary customizations, and monitor development and testing of the customization
- Obtain signoff from Subject Matter Experts on the to-be business processes and on the detailed requirements
- Create, maintain and monitor execution of the project documentation, using the frameworks defined in the project plans methodology
- Attend design sessions with multi-disciplinary teams
- Assist with the identification of training needs, and translating them into practical courses and programs. Assist with training as required.
- Assists in the development of new Policies and Procedures to be used when the new system is implemented; consult with Subject Matter Experts, obtain approval from Project Sponsor.
- Work with the infrastructure analyst(s) to configure the hardware and to support the deployment for training, testing, and production.
- Obtain signoff from Subject Matter Experts on system functionality after successful completion of the test scripts and test plans.
- Support the delivery and production support of the new system, until it commissioned to ongoing support.
- Support the Payroll Manager in preparing the readiness assessment for go-live.
- Escalate issues and schedule deviations that may jeopardize project success
