Fresh Start Foods Canada Ltd was founded in 1993 to provide Foodservice Customers with a fresh alternative. An outstanding supply network, efficient distribution through our three regional locations, and our thoroughly modern processing plant are all part of our commitment to provide the freshest fruits and vegetables possible.

Due to continued growth, we are currently seeking a full time Coordinator Quality Assurance to join our team based out of our Milton, Ontario location.

Position: Coordinator Quality Assurance

Schedule: Sunday through Friday: 9am - 5pm
- with Saturday and another weekday off (Depends on the Business Needs)._

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure continuous improvement and adequacy of quality assurance systems to support business, customer, and regulatory expectations.- Review daily records, including scale verification, thermometer verification, pH meter calibration, and internal inspection of the facility.- Assist in reviewing and updating internal policies and procedures to satisfy GFSI, customer, or regulatory requirements.- Perform regular inspections and reviews to ensure employees adhere to internal policies.- Participate and assist in various employees’ Food Safety and Quality training, and manage training in the existing platform (e.g., Alchemy).- Communicate with other departmental personnel to meet food safety and quality compliance, and assist other departments as needed or requested.- Maintain food safety & quality assurance documentation and records such as supplier information, customer portal maintenance, and product specifications.- Liaise with the Research and Development department to create new products according to customer demand and industry trends.- Conduct and report shelf life studies on new and existing products.- Support the Food Safety & Quality Manager and Supervisor in customer, 3rd party, regulatory, and internal audits.- Act as a backup for team members when a QA/QC technician is not available.- Adhere to safe work practices.- Perform other related duties as directed by the FSQA Manager/Supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Proven time management skills and strong attention to detail.- Ability to work well under pressure.- Strong drive to deliver results to customers/management in a timely manner.- Ability to think fast and make timely decisions on analytical problems, recording as needed to minimize downtime.- Must be highly organized and able to work effectively and efficiently in a demanding environment with flexibility to changing priorities.- Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.- Ability to work well with others, independently, and foster teamwork.

Education and Experience Requirements- Required Education/Certification: High School / Equivalent and Certification or License as a HACCP and/or FDA Preventive Control Qualified Individual.- Preferred Education: Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related scientific field.- Minimum Experience: Minimum of two years of experience in food safety, quality assurance, and/or quality control within manufacturing.
