**Shift Time for Service Technician**
- 7:30 - 4 p.m.

**JOB PURPOSE/OBJECTIVES**:
To disassemble, inspect, modify, and re-assemble units described on work order, ensuring proper quality and completeness within deadlines requested.

The technician is required to disassemble motors, reducers, variable speed units, competitors’ units and checks to see where damage has occurred. The Technician visually inspects the unit. A pretest is completed. This includes running of the unit, hi-pot test and documenting the mounting position. Once this has been completed, the oil is drained, and the unit is cleaned / sandblasted. The unit is now disassembled. All parts are inspected and cleaned. The technician then writes up parts to be replaced, recommendations and estimates labour. Unit is now skidded to stored.

The technician reviews the work order for deadlines e.g. “Same day Rush” or “One Week Rush” etc. The technician now picks the items required to assemble unit. The assembly of motors, gear box, variable speed drives consist of pushing gears on shaft and bearings and putting everything into various housings to end up with a complete product per the work orders data. The final test is now completed, and all testing data is recorded. The unit is filled with oil with the proper type and level accounting to the mounting position. Unit is painted.

Field Service will be required. Duties will include dealing with customers directly. Driving to customer facilities to provide predictive maintenance (oil changes, brake maintenance, small repairs etc.) Duties will also involve keeping good records, compiling technical reports as well as justifying and documenting all field decisions.

**REQUIREMENTS**:
The technician will require the following skills.
- Able to work independently in a variety of circumstances
- Able to have a flexible (outside regular hours) work schedule
- Excellent customer-relation skills
- Excellent communication skills
- A valid driver’s license
- A good driver’s record
- Product knowledge - Mechanical / Electrical
- Available to attend training in worldwide locations
- Currently have, or willing to obtain the follow training; first aid, lock-out safety, WHMIS, forklift, skyjack, customer specific safety training & basis training skills

**EDUCATION AND TRAINING**

A high school education with an emphasis on industrial trades

**Salary**: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday

Supplemental pay types:

- Bonus pay

**Experience**:

- service technician: 2 years (required)
