Maintenance Aide

uperior Facility Services is a family owned business providing environmental services to long term care and retirement homes for over 30 years. We are currently searching for a casual Maintenance Worker / Aide at our location in Tavistock Ontario - peopleCare Tavistock.

**Please note we are an essential services employer and this is a long term care facility. All employees of long term care must adhere to corporate and provincial regulations regarding Covid 19 immunization - must have 2 doses - and testing.**

**Facility is not located on a bus line so reliable transportation is a must. Only applicants currently residing in Canada will be considered.**

Under the direction of the DES the Maintenance Aide is responsible and accountable for **providing hands on** maintenance support to the facility, residents, and staff. The Maintenance Aide is responsible for performing general maintenance, housekeeping and floor maintenance duties as part of daily activities.

**Duties**:

- Performs basic maintenance such as painting / patching walls, light plumbing etc
- Performs housekeeping and floor care duties as required by the needs of the facility
- Organizes and assists in managing all aspects of the housekeeping department within the facility
- Participates in selection, evaluation, promotion and termination of environmental employees
- Participates in the orientation process for residents, staff, volunteers, and students;
- Participates on local and provincial committees for the facility
- Maintains records in accordance with the policies and procedures and government regulations
