**What We are Looking For**:
We are currently recruiting for Peer Support Workers to join our YWHO Cambridge team for a casual position. The Peer Support Workers will draw upon their lived/living experience with mental health and/or substance use to provide empathetic, non-judgmental support to youth accessing the Hub. Working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary Youth Wellness Team, the Peer Support Worker will build trusting relationships, support youth in identifying their goals, and offer guidance in navigating mental health, substance use, and related resources. They will also contribute to program development, outreach, drop-in activities, and co-create a welcoming, inclusive environment through one-on-one and group-based engagement.

- Possess an open-minded and non-judgmental attitude
- Have an interest in and/or have experience working with children and youth, aged 12-25 years old, in recreational, art and STEAM programming
- Creative, enthusiastic, and nurturing personality
- Have previous leadership training and experience
- Willing to obtain High Five Principles of Healthy Childhood Development training
- First Aid Certification is an asset
- Knowledge of community resources and navigating the youth mental health and substance use system.
- Demonstrated ability to relate to young people accessing services from a peer perspective and can work within an interdisciplinary health care team.
- Strong self-awareness, self-care practices and can establish and maintain professional relationships with youth accessing peer services.
- Excellent organizational, time management, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in supporting safe and meaningful drop-in participation and being open to diverse ways of thinking about, understanding and articulating issues related to mental health and substance use is an asset.
- Experience facilitating groups or other consultations with a broad range of participants is an asset. _
- _Bilingualism or the ability to speak a second language is considered an asset. _
- Must be available to work evenings.

**In this role you will be expected to complete the following tasks**
- Facilitate Skill and Wellbeing Activities (SWA) when needed such as STEAM, Hoops, Youth Dinners, YTCYC and Makerspace.
- Assist with the planning and facilitation of life-skills workshops.
- Assist with the program planning, coordination and mentoring of YWHO Cambridge’s Youth Advisory Council (YTCYC).
- Provide support to staff and participants during programs.
- Be a positive role model to youth participants aged 12-25.
- Complete various administrative duties such as program plans, program reports, behavior logs, incident reports.
- Assist participants and staff in conducting clean-up after the completion of programs
- Engage youth and create a welcoming environment for youth accessing Hub services.
- Support youth with the completion of standardized measures to help improve youth outcomes (focus on measurement-based care).
- Provide individual mentorship and coaching to youth to navigate mental health system.
- Complete documentation of client interactions and timely completion of data entry, case notes and other electronic records as required.
- Attend team meetings as required and contribute to integrated care planning for youth.
- Participate in a YWHO Community of Practice for Peer Support Worker role.
- Other duties as assigned.
