At the University of Manitoba, what inspires you can change everything. **The opportunity**: Under the general direction of the Rady IT Leads, the incumbent is responsible for: Providing Maintenance and support for Rady IT server infrastructure which services the clients in the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, including the Max Rady College of Medicine, College of Dentistry, College of Nursing, College of Pharmacy, College of Rehabilitation Sciences in addition to the affiliated entities: George and Fay Yee Centre for Healthcare Innovation, Children’s Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba. **The Primary focus is on Windows Server System Administration tasks such as**: - Setting up, configuring, and troubleshooting hardware and software on the Rady IT infrastructure used for administrative, research, lab, and clinical environments. - Provide support for server integration with clinical, lab, and research workstations, including copiloted and scripted solutions for workstation-connected clinical and lab equipment and software (such as: Plate scanners, Microscopes, etc.). - Participate in projects sponsored by the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences. **The qualifications and experience we’re looking for**: - Master's Degree or bachelor’s degree in computer Sciences or related fields - Minimum 3-5 years' experience working with IT platform infrastructure including bare-metal and VMware, Hyper-VMware Certified Professional (VCP) - Expert knowledge in System Administration best-practices for Windows workstations and Servers. - Intermediate knowledge in PowerShell - Expert experience with storage appliances. - Experience with automated infrastructure tools including Group Policy, Windows Deployment services. - Expert knowledge in diagnosing complex infrastructure and stability issues. - Able to quickly learn and implement new technologies and infrastructure best practices in a constantly evolving service provider infrastructure - Strong understanding of networking, virtualization (VMWare), storage technologies, Wi-Fi technologies, telecommunications, and Windows and Mac desktop support services. - Deep knowledge of industry trends and standards. - Exceptional Customer-service focus and strong work ethic to manage emergencies off hours. - Solid organizational skills.
