**Wages starting at $21.21/hour, 7 Hours per day - 195 days per year**

**Competencies Required**
The Assistive Technology Support Worker shall have the following competencies:
- The ability to troubleshoot, problem solve and upgrade equipment and technology, make installations, and track AT inventory in schools, as required to keep devices current.
- The ability to assist the AT Specialists, teachers, and school teams in selecting and adapting environments, tools, and resources to meet the needs of students with Assistive Technology and/or Augmentative Communication.
- The ability to provide support and on-going training for students, teachers, Teacher Assistants, and other staff as required on the use of various forms of assistive technology and the integration of accessible educational materials to support student learning.
- The ability to provide input to teachers to monitor and evaluate students use of AT and make recommendations for change as required.
- The ability to maintain accurate records and write reports
- The ability to communicate effectively with children and youth with various strengths, challenges, and interests.
- The ability to evaluate the effectiveness of technology intervention tools and strategies.
- The ability to utilize effective problem-solving and communication techniques.
- A demonstrated understanding and commitment to inclusive education.
- The ability to maintain knowledge and understanding of provincial and regional centre polices, guidelines and procedures relating to this area of specialty.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- The ability to work successfully in a team environment and independently with mínimal supervision
- The desire and ability to engage in continuing education and professional development.
- The ability to maintain and promote confidentiality.
**Qualifications**
- A Degree or Diploma in Disability Supports and Services, or acceptable equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License and daily access to a vehicle.
- Knowledge, understanding, and demonstrated aptitude in Assistive Technology and software used in schools for students is required.
- Experience working in school settings with children and youth is required.
- Experience delivering professional learning to groups is considered an asset.
**Specific Job Components**
The Assistive Technology Support Worker shall perform tasks as are assigned by the Student Services, Coordinator. These tasks may vary from time to time with the evolution of the organization and may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Work as a contributing member of the regional/board Assistive Technology Team.
- Commitment to using research and evidence-based practices for school aged children and youth in the area of Assistive Technology and Augmentative Communication.
- Assist with maintaining student data and prepare reports to document student progress.
- Provide, develop, and deliver professional development opportunities as determined by the Student Services Team.
- Assist with developing and providing students, teachers, Teacher Assistants and other staff, as required training for using AT and AAC
- Monitor the use of Accessible/AT/AAC software and devices by students and others who interact with them in education environments to ensure appropriate, effective, and efficient use and provide additional training as necessary.
- Provides technical support to assist staff with trouble shooting and problem solving as required.
- Keep AT and AAC devices in good repair, upgrade devices, make installations.
- Track and manage devices and licenses across the region.
- Other duties as assigned.
