**Lab Technician Tasks**
- Assist the Chemist with sample preparation, analytical testing, and chemical analyses (e.g. GC-MS, pyrolysis, XRF, polymer testing)
- Operate, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation and equipment
- Execute laboratory protocols, maintain lab safety standards, and document standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Ensure ISO 17025 / quality accreditation requirements are met in daily lab operations
- Review and validate raw data, generate lab reports, and communicate findings to compliance / project teams
- Support regulatory substance control projects (e.g. data gathering, risk assessment, documentation)
- Propose improvements to lab workflows, optimize throughput, and maintain lab efficiency
- Gather supplier information relevant to environmental compliance requirements
- Review and interpret collected data, providing recommendations aligned with applicable standards and protocols
- Assist in preparing environmental assessment reports and project proposals
- Develop and write technical articles and documentation
- Support administrative activities such as invoicing, reporting, and marketing initiatives

**Lab Technician - Specific Requirements**

**Essential**:

- Hands-on experience with GC-MS, pyrolysis, polymer testing, or similar analytical techniques
- Familiarity with ISO 17025 (or willingness to learn) and quality systems in a laboratory context
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with attention to detail
- Leadership and interpersonal skills; ability to manage, motivate, and mentor a small technical team
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in English

**Important**:

- Experience in electronics/materials/polymer chemistry, product testing
- Familiarity with data management, or lab software

**Assets**:

- XRF proficiency
- Understanding of ISO 14001, ISO 19011, and environmental / safety management systems
- Bilingual (English / French)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $20.00-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week
