Experienced Carpenter

Are you passionate about building energy efficient homes? Are you a Red Seal Carpenter or Equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of experience in residential foundations, framing, concrete and finishing who wants to work full time with an established Award-Winning Builder building high-end custom Built Green certified homes? Are you located near the Nanaimo, Ladysmith area and want to work locally? We are currently booked until summer of 2027 with the majority of projects in Ladysmith and Saltair.

**Skills and Experience that would be an asset**:
Well-rounded experience or interest in all components of a Carpenter’s duties

Can read and follow building plans

Knowledgeable with WorkSafeBC’s safe work practices for residential construction

Interior finishing

Residential framing experience

Concrete foundation (Burke system) and ICF

Perimeter drain install

Can crib up patios, stairs, sidewalks, driveways and detailed formwork

Exterior Siding, including soffit

Timber construction, including pergolas, front entry details, fences & gates

Communicates well and gets along with crew, trades, office staff and company owner

Reliable and honest

Hard working and self-motivated

Organized and efficient work practices - including keeping work area clean

Professional demeanour

Confident

Can work independently or effectively within a small crew of 2-5 people

**Requirements**:
Hold a valid Drivers licence - driver's abstract required upon being hired, and have a reliable vehicle

Level One Occupational First Aid (or willing to get within the first 3 months)

Personal protective gear & tool belt

Our company services Chemainus to Nanoose with our focus in Ladysmith. This is a physically demanding year-round job. GNB Builders starts each home from ground-breaking to completion.

Wage: Dependent on experience $30-42 per hour with wages reviewed regularly

Benefits: Eligible after 6 months of full-time employment
