**The Role**
This position can be performed from our office in London, Ontario or remotely within Canada. Remote-based employees may occasionally be asked to travel to our office for meetings or team-building events.
**Role Responsibilities**
- Team Management:
- Recruit, select, train, develop, and manage the performance of the team members on an ongoing basis
- Lead and facilitate clear communication within the Product Owner team, and between the Product Owner team, other internal teams and external clients
- Provide positive leadership and coaching to team members
- Delegate project assignments to team members to meet the overall needs of the business with follow-up to confirm completion
- Manage performance for team members, including defining clear responsibilities and expectations, establishing individual objectives, and conducting performance reviews
- As part of the Product Owner team, work with others to set and meet organization goals and corresponding team objectives on an ongoing basis
- Collaborate with other Product Owners, Business Analysts, Account Managers and other departments within Cognition+ to deliver the next-generation Cognition+ insurance solution to our clients
- Define product strategy and roadmap based on market analysis, business goals, and client feedback
- Acting as a member of the Product Owner Team, contribute to business outcomes and roadmap definition, define the system roadmap required to meet business outcomes and create high-quality features and user stories to deliver outcomes desired
- Define project scope, and maintain and edit Product backlog using input from stakeholders, taking into consideration information included in epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria, defects and bugs
- Prioritize features and enhancements based on business value, technical feasibility, and user impact
- Represent the client and act as the primary liaison between the client and the team
- Act as a product evangelist, communicating the product vision, strategy, and roadmap to internal stakeholders, clients, and partners
- Assist and communicate with internal and external stakeholders to help ensure that the overall solution will meet the expectations of the client community and the marketplace
- Provide assistance evaluating the product progress throughout the delivery process
- Assist as a product expert partnering with internal teams to remove obstacles that may impede delivery
- Participate in team demos and retrospectives, accepting quality work while ensuring constant process improvement throughout the lifecycle
- Conduct regular product reviews and performance analyses to measure progress against key metrics and KPIs
- Conduct market research and gather insights to identify client needs, market trends, and competitive landscape to ensure we’re bringing the best product to market
- Supporting the continuous improvement and documentation of our product and delivery processes
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in product management
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
**Required Qualifications & Skills**
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- A minimum of 10 years of product owner/product manager experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making
- Act in a Product Owner capacity to support members of the team
- Proven track record of execution and accountability
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience in client-facing situations
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills with the ability to lead the Product Owner team with influence
