**The Opportunity**
We are looking for a Junior Actuarial Analyst to join our team. You will provide support to the AVP Actuary on certain key actuarial tasks, improve efficiency and reduce time to deliver certain projects. The key focus is on pricing and data analytics, with some connections with other actuarial domains (as reserves, capital, and reinsurance). You will have the opportunity to participate in several different actuarial initiatives, creating exceptional learning opportunities and space for future growth. **What You Will Do**
**Responsibilities**:
- Active participation on insurance pricing under the supervision of AVP Actuary: loss ratio and profitability evaluations of programs, products, and lines of business; review of rates.
- Active participation on updating rates and raters, including implementation of them in the system (including participating on testing phases).
- Supporting on building and updating automated Actuarial Review/Evaluation of programs, products and Lines of business.
- Data preparation support for several key actions: data lake, Appointed Actuarial Report, Financial Condition Testing, etc.
- Support in preparing key metrics for management reports including key performance and key risk indicators.
- You will also be asked to assist with broader company tasks as needed.

Our new Junior Actuarial Analyst will have:
- A combination of education and experience:
- Undergraduate degree in Actuarial Sciences, Mathematics, or Statistics
- Minimum 1 year experience in Actuarial and/or commercial P&C insurance
- Exams from CAS (Casualty Actuarial Society) and/or CIA (Canadian Institute of Actuaries). Other actuarial society exams might be accepted, but on a case-by-case preferred but not required.
- Strong Excel and Office Suite skills
- Data manipulation and basic analytical capabilities
- Basics from any one of the following programming languages: VBA, R, Python, SQL.
- Basics from any one of the following dashboarding/data visualization software: Power BI, Snowflake, Tableau.
- Basics of insurance pricing and reserving
- Basics of finance and accounting
- Pricing modeling (GLMs and other predictive models) preferred but not required.
- Advanced skills on pricing and/or reserving preferred but not required.
- Basics of reinsurance preferred but not required.
- Advanced skills on programming and/or dashboard/data visualization software preferred but not required.
- Advanced data manipulation and/or analytical capabilities preferred but not required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English) are required as this role will be interacting with team members across the country; fluency in French is preferred, but not required.
