Toronto, Canada CLAP Studio Full time

CLAP Studio - ‘Create Learn and Play’ is a fun art studio
space in Toronto for children and adults to create and explore
freely through different mediums of art.

Working Hours: 40 hours per week

**Requirements**:

- Languages: English, (Mandarin, Farsi, and Korean an asset)
- Education: Post-secondary degree in Education (additional certificates in play therapy or art therapy an asset)
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience
- Security and Safety: Criminal record check, CPR Certificate, First Air Certificate

Personal suitability:

- Punctual, organized, and reliable
- Excellent oral communication skills
- Passionate about teaching all ages (from 12 months and up)
- Strong love for arts and creativity,
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math) concepts and projects
- Familiarity with play-based learning and process-art
- Previous customer service experience with strong interpersonal skills and previous sales experience
- Excellent classroom management skills
- Strong time management skills
- Team player and can work independently
- Previous experience working with young students

**Job Description**:

- Develop and plan art programs that incorporate STEAM concepts, and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
- Demonstrate and guide children in recreational art programs
- Provide opportunities for children to explore and express creativity through art without fear
- Manage art supply inventory
- Monitor the classroom to ensure children safety and provide emergency or first aid assistance when required
- Maintain art studio equipment and assist in housekeeping duties
- Attend staff meetings to discuss progress of programs and children
- Assist customers with program registrations
- Help children develop positive character traits for future success in all aspects of life
- Celebrate children’s effort, individuality, and help them build confidence

Compensation:

- $17.00 - $19.00/hour

COVID-19 considerations:
Mask wearing encouraged in the building (aged 2 and up), staff are required to wear masks, hourly sanitizing of high-touch points and areas, classrooms are sanitized before and after each class, temperature screening

- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
