**Adult Community Inclusion Support Worker - Nanaimo BC**

**Starting Wage**: $20.30 per hour

**Position Type**: Part-time

Do you have the desire to make a difference in the lives of adults with diverse abilities? Bonaventure Support Services is looking for a new team member that will work within a larger interdisciplinary team to provide a program which will include recreation, life skills, social opportunities, regulation skills, personal care, and other opportunities.

Being a part of a community is an integral part of living a balanced life. Bonaventure's Inclusion support is tailored to meet the individual's needs and assist in reaching their goals. We partner with individuals, families, and caregivers to create a customized personal support plan.

The qualified team member will be working as a part of a larger interdisciplinary team. These are some of the responsibilities and duties that will be required:

- Working 1-1 with the adult in their residential home, or in a 3:1 setting
- Working within the community at large
- Providing a recreational based program that allows the adult to explore safely while learning new skills
- Communicating with the team through documentation, meetings, and logbooks
- Promote health and safety at all times
- Have patience and understanding of the adult and the situation
- Independent work is required
- Be able to work in stressful environment
- Excellent interpersonal behaviour and communication skills

The qualified applicant will be able to provide the following:

- Must be 19+ years of age
- Valid BC Class 5 Drivers License
- Personal Vehicle Required
- Clean Drivers Abstract
- Proof of full Covid-19 vaccination or exemption
- RCMP Criminal Record Check - Employer will file
- Criminal Records Review Act Schedule A -Employer will file
- Current approved First Aid Certificate including CPR
- Physicians Declaration
- Current and Clear TB Screen
- Education and/or experience working with vulnerable adults, or people with challenging behaviours. (CYC, CSW, SW, SIVA, etc.)
