**_Minimum Qualifications:_**
- Post-secondary education in environmental science, geography, climate science, or a related field
- Three (3) years’ progressive experience in a related field
- Excellent project management and facilitation skills
- Broad knowledge of climate change issues and sustainable development principles and practices
- Strong research and data analytical skills with the ability to conduct rigorous research, summarize findings, and present recommendations
- Ability to balance multiple complex projects independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrated ability to develop and foster internal and external relationships
- Excellent written and oral presentation skills
- Ability to think strategically and creatively, and use ingenuity to solve unique challenges
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital project management tools
- Valid Ontario Driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
- Demonstrated safe working practices
**_ Assets:_**
- Political acumen and demonstrated political sensitivity
- Experience working in the municipal sector
**_ Job Duties:_**
- Champion the implementation of the projects and initiatives identified in the County’s Climate Action Plan, including routine updates on the progress of the Plan’s implementation
- Manage the County’s energy management reporting required under O. Reg 25/23 and other data reporting requirements as identified
- Proactively identify grant funding for County projects to increase project viability and environmental sustainability
- Organize and direct effective project teams and undertake multi-stakeholder (both internal and external) engagement for the successful delivery of climate related projects and initiatives
- Proactively research key priorities and municipal sector trends, and recommend options, new initiatives or solutions for consideration
- Prepare reports and presentations to Council, Standing Committees, and internal and external committees and organizations
- Other duties as assigned
**Hourly Rate**: $46.80 - $54.75 (Job Grade 7 - under review) 35 hours per week
