**Maintenance Manager**

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring the upkeep of the property including guest rooms, pools, and facilities. A Maintenance Manager is an ambassador for the brand, providing leadership, direction, and guidance to the team, ensuring the property is properly maintained while managing costs.

**Job Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Ensures efficient and effective performance of the maintenance department
- Oversees, develops, and supports the maintenance team and handles schedules.
- Assist with hiring of new staff - follows up with training newcomers
- Communicates with other departments effectively
- Inspects public areas daily for any deficiencies.
- Responds to customer or maintenance inquiries/requests in a pleasant, timely, and efficient manner.
- Completes work order requests, and submits invoices in an timely manner.
- Maintains all mechanical areas in an orderly and clean condition.
- Provides maintenance repairs to guestrooms, public areas, and administrative offices.
- Repairs may include (but are not limited to) plumbing, electrical, heating, cooling, ventilation, furnishings and fixtures, light bulbs, painting, wall cover repairs, light carpentry, door, and window repairs
- Respond to or perform duties of a groundskeeper.
- Perform other duties as required in all areas of the property.
- Monitors shared staff accommodations reviewing units for maintenance repairs
- Conducts performance reviews and performance management when required
- Maintains departmental budget controlling costs.
- Work with contractors and oversee the work being completed
- Oversee all care with the hot tubs on the roof
- Conducts departmental meetings
- Participates in H&S meetings and safety inspections

**Prerequisites**:
**Education**:
A post secondary education in hotel management is an asset. Must have excellent verbal, written and computer system skills.

**Experience**:
Must have a minimum of 3-5 years experience in Hotel/Resort maintenance. Preference given for luxury resort and international experience.
