**Position**:Operations Manager (Permanent, Full-time)

**Reports to**: Chief Executive Officers

**ABOUT US**

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officers, the Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring smooth operations at our greenhouse. They will ensure compliance with food and safety regulations while overseeing a range of operations at Fresh Green Farms. They will support the Operations Team by directing all unit activities, including food production, distribution, packing, and will provide hands-on support as needed. They will also establish and maintain effective working relationships with other departments and external stakeholders.

**DAILY DUTIES**

1. Planning, administering, and directing all unit activities related to food production, distribution, and packing operations

2. Motivating and monitoring Operations Team to achieve goals and targets

3. Ensuring compliance to food safety, sanitation, and overall food and safety standards

4. Providing overall support, supervision, and coaching to the Operations Team

5. Purchasing miscellaneous supplies, may involve use of personal vehicle.

6. Ensuring compliance will all contract obligations

7. Reviewing, finalizing, and evaluating SOPs and operational procedures

8. Maintains and ensures a safe working environment in the and greenhouse

**REGULAR DUTIES**
- Manages and grows a team of machine/equipment operators, labourers, cleaning crew, and other operational staff
- Communicates and coordinates with contractor workers to ensure adequate coverage throughout the week (including weekends and holidays)
- Designs and implements tracking system for product life cycle
- Plans, sets, and communicates department goals to achieve organizational objectives
- Defines Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the Operations Team
- Works with the Human Resources department and the CEOs to deliver performance management to the Operations Team
- Ensures documentation and certification is maintained and up-to-date
- Communicates plans, actions, safety risks, and issues within the Operations Team and inter-departmentally
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships
- Other duties as instructed

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES**
- Ability to manage multiple tasks under specific timelines
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing
- Ability to lift up to 25lbs

**AN IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE**
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Food Service, Operations, Business, or related field
- 5 years of experience working in food production and distribution, plant operations, packing, or other relevant industries
- Equipment and machine operations experience is preferred
- Food safety certification is preferred
- Experience leading, motivating, and coaching teams, preferably in an operational setting
- Experience setting KPIs and departmental goals considered an asset
- Ability to foster strong client relationships
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Excel, Word Outlook, etc.)
- Must have a valid Class 5 B.C. driver’s license

**WORK CONDITIONS**
- 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday to Friday
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions
- May be requested to support the CEOs or operations on-site outside of regular work hours (i.e., evenings, weekends)
- Must be on-call to contractor supervisors during weekends and holidays, in case of emergencies
- Use of personal vehicle may be required
