**Job Summary**

Reporting to the Regional Director of Privacy, Planning, and Performance, the Clinical Research Scientist will be responsible for assessing and providing consultation on health systems performance and patient outcomes measurement. This position will be responsible for analyzing, interpreting, and assessing the validity and reliability of clinical, administrative, and population-based data. This position will also be involved in developing, monitoring, and supporting quality improvement initiatives including the identification, monitoring, and reporting of key performance indicators and development and maintenance of dashboards and performance scorecards. The Clinical Research Scientist will work closely and collaboratively with other program staff and the executive of Eastern Health to understand their needs and advocate for evidence-based practices. This position will also liaise with other organizations external to Eastern Health. The overall objectives are to support the development and monitoring of Eastern Health's quality improvement initiatives, support the attainment of strategic planning goals and objectives, and provide analysis, interpretation, and quality assurance of data used for planning and improving system performance and clinical efficiency/efficacy.

**Job Qualifications**

**Education**
Ph.D. in applied health, epidemiology, or related social science field with an emphasis on health systems performance and data analysis and interpretation.
- If there are no applicants who meet the Ph.D. requirement, those with Master's Degrees in related fields will be considered.

**Experience**
Minimum five (5) years' experience in health-related performance measurement and evaluation is required.

Experience in people management is an asset.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

Familiarity with statistical analysis and data visualization software, maintaining and manipulating large databases, and using advanced data analysis techniques.

Knowledge of advanced applied health and epidemiology methodologies.

Familiarity with clinical, administrative, and population-based data.

Ability to foster positive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.

Possesses strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.

**Other**
A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required.
