Worker Type: Employee Group: Marketing Analytics Department Job Post End Date: 01/29/2025 **About this opportunity**: Reporting to the Manager, Marketing Analytics, the Market/Fundamentals Analyst will research the drivers related to short-term (< 18 months) supply and demand of crude and condensate analytics in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin (WCSB), US Midwest(PADDII) and Gulf Coast (PADDIII). **What you’ll do**: - Support forward short-term (< 18 months) supply and demand balances for North American Crude and Condensate - Collaborate with the trading desk and Senior Market Analysts on the team to develop risk/reward analysis of trading optimization opportunities - Assist in generating ad-hoc analyses requested by trading/various business units to support various commercial strategies - Be accountable for the accuracy of model actualizations, modeling supply **Who you are**: - Legally authorized to work in Canada - Post-Secondary degree in a numeric field (Statistics, Finance, Economics/Econometrics, Computer Science, Data Science) - Minimum 2 years of experience in a related field - Strong quantitative and analytical capacity with operational knowledge and willingness to learn new analytical tools - Experience in Oil/NGL Fundamentals within energy trading/producer/refiner environment - Can communicate and engage effectively with a team of trading professionals with mínimal support and coaching - Knowledge of Python, Microsoft Office Products required, familiarity with R and Databricks an asset We acknowledge the value of transferrable skills and may consider equivalent combinations of experience and education should you not meet a specific requirement. **Who we are**: We’re an integrated energy company headquartered in Calgary with oil and natural gas production operations in Canada and the Asia Pacific region, and upgrading, refining and marketing operations in Canada and the United States.
