**LOCATION**: This is a Hybrid role. 30% remote (work from home) and about 70% based in office in Guelph, ON. Occasionally requires sites visits.
**SUMMARY**:
The Regional Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) will be responsible for all aspects of Human Resources for Gateway Services Inc.’s approximately 300 employees located in Canada.
This position will be an active member of the HR Lead Team consisting of HR professionals from Canada and the US. The HR Lead Team is responsible for planning and executing company-wide strategic HR initiatives to make talent an advantage by championing culture and engagement, talent management and operational excellence. Examples of HR Lead Team activities include the development and deployment of a performance management process, HR policies and workforce planning.
The position will report directly to VP: Human Resources.
**HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT/KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
The HRBP will be responsible to achieving the following objectives:
- Enhance employee engagement and culture
- Improve communications between management and staff
- Attract and retain talent
- Implement talent management strategies, including performance management, career development and high-quality training programs
- Deploy consistent company-wide HR policies and procedures
- Maintain competitive standards for compensation in line with local markets and business requirements
**Specific activities include**:
- Promote a culture of workplace safety and equity through leadership and company-wide initiatives implemented at the regional level.
- Provide ongoing feedback to regional and facility management teams on their performance and identify developmental opportunities.
- Promote Gateway’s values, mission and vision throughout locations within the region.
- Analyze the skills and qualities required for each role and develop job descriptions and skills matrices to reflect requirements. Assist in Recruitment activities wherever needed.
- Mange all personnel files including fitness for work and performance management files.
- Provide advice and direction to the Regional Manager and Facility Managers in relation to personnel policies; market trends and performance issues.
- Coach Facility Managers to ensure consistent HR practices and procedures are followed.
- Ensure that all recruitment activities occur in a timely and professional manner taking into consideration to both technical ability and cultural fit.
- Lead change management processes within the region and ensure alignment with organizational growth and business goals.
- Provide timely information and reporting for both business and regulatory requirements, projections and identification of performance gaps.
- Management of facility talent to ensure required skills are developed and maintained; talent development and gap analysis, identify training needs to meet business needs now and in the future.
- Provide advice, support and input to the HR Lead Team to ensure competitive compensation in relation to local labor markets.
- Manage communications with and expectations of external stakeholders.
- Manage budget for regional HR function, track costs and identify opportunities for reducing spend / costs.
**WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED**:
- 7 years of related HR experience with 1-2 years as a business partner or HR manager with strong proactive consulting capability and work experience.
- Knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including immigration, employee relations, recruitment, performance management, federal and state respective employment laws, compensation practices, benefits administration, organizational diagnosis, and diversity.
- Experience in a Change Management environment (preferred).
- Experience in implementing performance management systems (preferred).
