**KPO/Operational Excellence Technician**

**Summary/Purpose**:
**The KPO/** **Operational Excellence** **Technician** **position focuses primarily on hands-on shop floor Kaizen activities, performing a variety of continuous improvement tasks in support of the Kaizen Promotion Office; aides in creating a safe, efficient, and effective Lean operation. This position is an entry level position.

**Core Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Interfaces with all functional departments and handles Continuous Improvement requests
- Undertakes independent projects as needed in support of department
- Assists in the creation of Work Instructions, Daily Management, 6 Sigma and TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) Documents
- Assists in designs and fabricates equipment from Creform Tubing and other materials
- Assists in the completion of Kaizen Newspaper Action Items
- Participates in and supports Kaizen Event
- Adheres to all Core Values (Health and Safety, Quality, Customer Service, Development of People, Integrity, Corporate Citizenship, Continuous Improvement, Respect).
- Adheres to all Core Competencies (Communication, Teamwork, Achieving Results, Commitment to Continuous Improvement, Judgement).
- Performs other relate duties as assigned

**Minimum Required Qualifications**

**Knowledge, Skill, & Ability**:

- Hands-on, detail-oriented skills
- Good interpersonal and communication skills with ability to effectively work with all levels of employees throughout the organization
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to complete multiple improvement projects within a team-based environment
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and demands to meet deadlines

***Education & Experience**:

- High School Diploma or equivalent and 2 years manufacturing experience

***Preferred Qualifications**:

- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
- Associate Degree or equivalent experience

**Physical Demands**:
Light to moderate physical effort required. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds. Regularly required to sit or stand, reach and move about the facility

**Working Conditions**:
Work environment is like most manufacturing operations. May be exposed to excessive noise, temperatures, hazards associated with working around moving machinery, work in confined quarters, exposure to vibrations and shop lighting.
