**Assistant Manager**

The Assistant Manager is responsible for managing the day to day retail sales floor operation of the store, and ensuring the highest levels of customer engagement and service. The Assistant Manager achieves their goals by supporting the sales and cash associates daily to maintain top customer service levels goals, and ensuring daily staff productivity requirements are met. All tasks are performed with sufficient speed and accuracy to ensure courteous and prompt customer service is maintained at all times.

**Retail Sales**
- Develops and maintains sales goals and objectives for the sales floor team
- Ensures sales goals are achieved
- Produces sales reports and conducts routine analysis of data
- Conducts routine meetings with sales associates to review individual and department sales performances
- Prepares sales associates for sales and promotional activities.
- Tracks daily sales to understand movements in sales, margins, and transactions
- Understands the POS system, and procedures related to purchases.
- Ensures cash reports and deposits balance daily.
- Understands store traffic patterns and schedules accordingly.
- Attends and contributes to monthly management meetings

**Customer Service**
- Ensures the highest levels of customer service and engagement is maintained to ensure a positive customer experience
- Maintains a high profile and ‘hands on’ management style
- Leads a diverse team of Customer Service, Department Sales, and Cashier associates.
- Conducts daily check-ins to communicate pertinent information, provide daily direction and ensures peak productivity levels.
- Analyzes customer experience and makes or recommends changes or adjustments
- Supports sales and department associates
- Supports staff to facilitate prompt settlement of customer complaints and problems.

**HR**
- Assists with Recruiting and developing a winning team to ensure high customer service levels
- Identifies, develops and trains personnel capable of assuming further responsibilities within the company.
- Contributes to schedule creation for staff according to store traffic patterns and wage budgets. Manage schedules for vacations, holidays, sick days.
- Reviews time sheets as required
- Assists with onboarding & training plans, facility orientation, training, HR files etc for new and existing staff.
- Ensures that all personnel maintain the knowledge and skills necessary to provide good customer service and to maximize sales, with particular attention to add-on sales opportunities.
- Assists with annual performance reviews
- Takes appropriate disciplinary action when employees violate company rules and/or policies. Maintain complete and accurate records of such actions.
- Establishes and maintains safety training and loss prevention programs.

**Operations**
- Assists with managing all areas of the retail operation of the store while following the guidelines of current company policy.
- Provides an environment that encourages high employee productivity and morale.
- Coordinates and communicates with other managers in other areas (Merchandising, Inventory Control etc.) as required to help achieve overall operational goals
- Implements all policies, procedures, and objectives as determined by the management team

**Qualifications**
- Minimum of 3 years of Retail Management experience
- A strong understanding of retail sales and analytics
- Proven management track record leading a successful sales or merchandising team
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Ability to lead and work cooperatively in a team atmosphere.
- Excellent communication skills.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Expected hours: 40 - 45 per week
