We are looking for a driven, energetic, and creative person who will be responsible for the translation and adaptation of English language texts into French language texts (and vice-versa) for the implementation and use of national and locally scoped marketing and communications, corporate engagement, wish granting, financial services, Human Resources content needs and more. As a translator, you'll convert written material from the source languages of English and French, making sure that translated versions convey the meaning of the original as clearly as possible. While sitting on the National Brand Marketing and Communications team, the Translation Specialist will translate and adapt materials for Make-A-Wish® | Rêves d’enfantsMD Canada (MAWC). This role is located **Anywhere in Canada **and is a **full time, permanent **position. - **What You Will Do** - Works with relevant communications and executive team members to appropriately respond to translation requests of all types and sizes. - Maintains and updates translation request tracker and works with the Marketing Assistant to ensure requests are managed in a timely manner. - Works closely and collaborates with the Communications Specialist, Quebec regarding translation requests. - Remains aware of all regional internal and external communication plans that are consistent with the national strategic plan to enhance the MAWC brand as a fully bilingual, nationally-scoped organization in order to improve public brand exposure and confidence in the Make-A-Wish | Rêves d’enfants Canada brand. - Establishes and maintains a large volume and a wide network of internal relationships to effectively respond to translation needs within the MAWC organization. - Reads through original material and rewrites it in the target language, ensuring that the meaning of the source text is retained. - Researches legal, technical and scientific phrasing to find the correct translation. - Liaises with internal clients to discuss any unclear points. - Proofreads and edits final translated versions. - Develops and maintains various French-language tools and templates for internal and external use (i.e. presentation files, lexicon, archived reference documents, etc.). - Assists in French-language translation of transcripted audio and video files and maintains an archive thereof. - Works with team members/internal client groups on the development of French-language communications to ensure that the brand and messaging are consistent with policies, procedures and guidelines with the objective of increasing awareness for fundraising and wish referrals. - Works with volunteers, committees and staff as required. - Develops French-Language web and social media content to support nationally-scoped events, on-going fundraising activities, stories, etc., and works with the national marketing & communication team and web developer to post conte
