**Position Overview / Scope of Responsibilities**:
The Red Seal Carpenter will be responsible for coordinating with the site supervisor’s and foremen to build/erect framing structure or site components including rough carpentry, concrete forms or finish carpentry. We are looking for someone who can manage their time and get tasks completed correctly and on time. We work mainly with prefabricated walls, which is a fast and challenging task. Always thinking ahead and having a good understanding of the entire project are key attributes we are looking for. Baydo Contracting takes pride in promoting within. Our company is growing fast in the Vancouver area with lots of opportunities.

**Principal Responsibilities**:

- Read and understand blueprints and drawings to determine specifications and calculate material/requirements.
- Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes.
- Build and/or assemble components made of wood, lightweight steel, and other materials.
- Build foundation forms, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect prefabricated walls and built-on-site walls and floor systems.
- Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, windows, moulding and hardware.
- Work closely with our prefabrication shop. Coordinating wall deliveries and communicating any deficiencies or changes necessary.
- Supervise apprentices and other construction workers.

**Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Education**:

- Level 1 to 4 in carpentry including Red Seal.
- Extra construction courses and experience will be considered as potential to grow within the company and for salary negotiations.
- Positive attitude, a desire to help others and a willingness to learn.
- Punctual and ready for work when on the jobsite.

**Working Conditions**:
The job will be situated at sites in and around the Vancouver area. (*Also hiring in Mission, BC*)

**Compensation**:
**Salary**: Starting at $35/hour. Negotiable for the right person with the right experience.
