**The Opportunity**:
**_ Scope of the position_**

Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, Refrigerative Supply’s Purchasing Agent is responsible for sourcing and purchasing HVAC and Refrigeration parts and equipment from the most economical source of supply, developing/maintaining relationships with suppliers, communicating/assisting sales department in ordering products, ensuring timely delivery of all ordered parts/equipment and inventory management.

**_ Duties and Responsibilities_**
- Place daily/weekly/monthly inventory orders.
- Work within company processes and guidelines related to purchasing.
- Handle requests from the sales team to order parts or equipment.
- Develop and manage vendor/contractor relationships - follow up with suppliers on confirmations, prices, discrepancies, and other issues; examines pricing, negotiate and review product contracts; evaluate and advise Management of any serious ongoing issues with vendors.
- Monitor supplier backorders to ensure timely delivery or locate other sources of supply in order to obtain needed products.
- Act upon all communications where product replacement and/or returns may be applicable.
- Inventory management - responsible for replenishing, managing, and maintaining inventory to ensure adequate inventory is available to support Refrigerative Supply customers’ expectations.
- Responsible for maintaining an appropriate level of inventory while monitoring products for end-of-life signals and acting to mitigate potential write-offs.
- Run various reports as required (i.e. sales, inventory, pricing, open PO, etc.) for analysis and action.
- Other duties as assigned.

**_Skills and Qualifications_**
- 2 years’ experience in a wholesale purchasing role preferably in the HVAC/R industry is an asset.
- Experience with computerized purchasing and ERP inventory systems.
- Microsoft skills including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams.
- Ability to analyze data and make decisions.
- Strong motivation and initiative.
- Attention to detail in typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities, and meeting deadlines.
- Prioritizes and plans work activities and uses time efficiently.
- Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, monitors own work to ensure quality, and applies feedback to improve performance.
- Meets productivity standards and completes work in a timely manner.
- Adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands, is able to excel under pressure and adapt to change, and capable of dealing with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
- Maintains confidentiality and uses discretion with information.
