The Opportunity:
The Fund Treasurer’s Office represents the interests of investors, overseeing financial and operational matters that affect the funds and their investors. The Fund Treasury Analyst position is responsible for contributing to the oversight of our Fund Administrator and other service providers to the funds principally in the area of foreign markets. The Fund Treasury Analyst will oversee certain oversight controls and/or review documentation ensuring third party services and deliverables are met and within established guidelines and service level agreements requirements. The Fund Treasury Analyst will work closely with the Fund Treasury Senior Analysts, Managers and Directors in the continual assessment of the oversight model and provide feedback to enhance its overall effectiveness.
What You Will Do:
- Provide oversight and support of reviewing deliverables from third-party service providers for fund administration activities of the funds. Ensure services and deliverable meet prescribed standards and guidelines.- Maintain effective and positive relationships with the service delivery teams and custodian bank.- Conduct procedures (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.) to oversee the services and activities carried out by the fund administrator on behalf of the funds.- Act as an initial point personnel in uncovering and resolving issues. The analyst will actively identify issues, investigate with service providers on resolutions and escalate to senior staff as needed.- Support the Fund Treasury Senior Analysts, Managers and Directors in any incident and error reporting requirements. Responsible for the timely escalation of any related incidents or errors for reporting and supporting the investigation with third party vendor on appropriate action plans.- Support the preparation of scorecard materials on related oversight activities. Provide explanations and/or remediation plans for any metrics which fall below established thresholds.- Participate in ongoing due diligence of third-party service providers and provide support in the preparation of the questionnaire, meeting materials and the final summary reports to the various committees.- Assist in the preparation of presentation materials for external committees and boards.- Act as a backup in the absence of the Fund Treasury analysts and/or senior analysts, performing coverage over the required oversight functions.- As required for each reporting cycle, assist in the review of fund continuous disclosure documents including Annual and Semi-Annual financial statement reports and the Management Report of Fund Performance.- As required for each calendar year-end, assist in the review of the Fund's year-end distributions and/or related Fund tax filings.
What We’re Looking For:
- 1 year of experience within the financial services/brokerage industry- University degree within Accounting/Finance or equivalent work experience- Fund Accounting experience and/or fund industry related experience- Enrolment or completion of the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation, is an asset
