Training Manager

As a STAS Training Manager, your responsibility is to ensure required training-according to National Training & Certification Program (NTCP) and the Recurrent Learning Program (RLP) are completed and maintained. In addition, you will identify additional training needs and forecast future training requirements. In this role you will work closely with the members of the regional support team, operations and human resources team.
**PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- Reinforcement of STAS values and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
- Update CATSA LMS with training records, LMS Grading, assessment scores and testing results from SOF training programs as well as the National Training and Certification Program (NTCP) and RLP
- Monitor training effectiveness through adherence and compliance indicators
- Participate in training-related or other meetings as required
- Liaise with the CATSA Training and Certification coordinator
- Enroll pre-board screening personnel in the NTCP (Liaison with Learning and Performance-CATSA)
- Manage the performance and effectiveness of the SCT’s.
- Create new employee profiles in LMS.
- Complete all CATSA Requests for Training and Certification.
- Create and carry out Screening Contractors Skills Reviews and Skills Assessments for screening officers.
- Ensure 3-6-month Evaluation of new screening officers is completed.
- Ensure screening officers maintain PBS and HBS certifications through XRT and RLP quarterly requirements.
- Ensure Employee Training Files are maintained and compliant.
- Provide the Performance and Training Coordinator with updated figures for the Training Forecast.
- Liaise and communicate with the operations team to ensure RLP requirements are being respected. This should be done with the DSD throughout the Quarter, on a regular basis
- Ensure ‘upcoming medical’ letters are provided to screening-officers 3 months prior to their expiry (obtain SO signature) - keep signed letters in the SO’s Training Files

- You are a self-starter who is capable of following policies & procedures with integrity
- You are capable of handling stressful situations with time-sensitive constraints
- You have advanced computer skills
- You have excellent communication skills (bilingualism an asset/English essential)
- You have a good knowledge of SOP’s, CATSA’s NTCP and CATSA’s RLP requirements.
- You have exceptional teamwork skills and easily gain trust and support by encouraging collaboration with peers and employees

- Be willing to undergo extensive security & reference checks
- Be 18 years of age
- Be legally entitled to work within Canada
- College diploma or equivalent and/or have a background in a training/ mentorship role
