**Financial Analyst, FP&A**

Reporting to the Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis on the Corporate Financial Reporting Team, the Financial Analyst, FP&A is responsible for completing cash flows, management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and process improvement activities for companies within the Minto Group.

The Financial Analyst will work independently to build and continually refine financial models in Excel and play a key role in preparing consolidated short and long-range forecasts. In addition, with the support of the Manager, the Analyst will implement new FP&A software modules with the goal of streamlining the forecast preparation process and integrating it with cyclical presentations to Senior Management. Finally, the Analyst is expected to leverage their financial statement analysis experience to identify issues and proactively resolve them.

**Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities**:

- Lead the integration and refinement of existing financial models for monthly forecasting
- With the support of the Manager, integrate the short and long-range forecast models with the quarterly presentations to Senior Management to streamline this process
- Lead the preparation cash flow forecasting by:

- Developing an in depth understanding of business operations and updates to ensure they are captured in the forecast
- Translating variances into operational and general business terminology
- Continually improving existing processes and models
- Preparation of the consolidated forecasts and budgets at the consolidated business group level
- Lead the integration of new FP&A software solutions and work closely with the Manager to build processes to integrate forecasting across business groups

**Key to this position**:

- Strong understanding of accounting principles and the integration between the balance sheet, P&L and cash flow statement
- Financial statement analytical skills
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Ability to translate accounting/finance terminology into general business terms

**Training and required experience**:

- A business degree
- Professional accounting (CPA/CA) or finance designation (CFA)
- At least 4 years of relevant professional experience including financial statement analysis and / or building integrated financial models
- Knowledge of ERP systems (Yardi is an asset)
- Sound knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (“IFRS”) advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Experience overseeing or leading projects and working in a team environment
