**Aspire Richmond** provides a comprehensive continuum of care across the lifespan for individuals with disabilities. Our services include early intervention for infants and children, child and youth care, adult day and residential programs, employment support, and more.

**Recreation Counsellor /Youth Support Worker
- Part Time Position (20 hours per week) - Richmond, BC**

Promote inclusion by supporting school aged children and youth with developmental disabilities to achieve goals and explore possibilities through participation in community
- based activities. With a focus on adventure, excitement, friendship, and fun, Youth Connections is living proof that some of life's greatest lessons are taught in a recreational setting.

**YOUR IMPACT**
- Provide direct support to children and youth with developmental disabilities, including those with mental health challenges, complex and/or challenging behaviour or support needs.
- Initiate learning opportunities for social, creative and recreational skill development and enthusiastically participate alongside the children and youth in activities.
- Support individuals to achieve goals based on their own choice, beliefs and desires.
- Establish respectful relationships which promote dignity, self-determination and well
- being.
- Provide meaningful feedback and information to parents/families regarding their child’s learning and development, interests and emerging skills.

**YOUR CAPABILITIES**
- Relevant post-secondary education in related field.
- Experience supporting children with developmental disabilities or working in a similar environment.
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification.
- Clear, current Criminal Records Check
- Valid BC Driver’s License (Class 4 an asset).
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion.
- Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to interact at all levels of an organization.
- Reliable problem solving, critical thinking and communication skills.

**Hourly Rate**:$25.95 -26.83 Hourly

**Hours of work**: Monday-Friday (2-6pm, full days on pro-d days and school breaks)
