**Job Overview**
**Responsibilities**
- Supervise yard operations, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
- Operate heavy equipment including forklifts, cranes, and order pickers as needed.
- Oversee the loading and unloading of materials, ensuring proper handling and storage.
- Maintain an organized warehouse environment to facilitate smooth distribution processes.
- Train and mentor team members on safe equipment operation and best practices.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance.
- Collaborate with management to develop strategies for improving operational efficiency.
- Assist in building and maintaining a positive team culture focused on safety and productivity.
**Skills**
- Proficient in heavy equipment operation with experience in forklifts, cranes, and order pickers.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Experience in warehouse distribution processes including loading/unloading materials.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the role.
- Excellent leadership skills with a focus on team development and safety practices.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively within a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills for effective interaction with team members and management.
This position is essential for maintaining operational excellence within our yard, ensuring that all activities align with company standards for safety and efficiency.
Pay: Up to $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
Flexible language requirement:
- French not required
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
**Education**:
- Secondary School (preferred)
**Experience**:
- warehouse: 1 year (preferred)
**Language**:
- English (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Forklift Licence (preferred)
