An opportunity to grow and expand your knowledge of the food industry with focused training and development working with our team of Sales, QA, Marketing and Supply Chain experts.
This key role plays a major part in planning, scheduling, coordinating, implementing, and growing all aspects of the company’s supply chain from purchasing and scheduling inbound of raw materials, warehousing, and coordination of outbound finished goods.
Primary tasks & responsibilities:
- Create accurate purchase orders based on production plan
- Responsible for maintaining accurate and timely purchase order processing. Monitor stock levels and reorder items to ensure proper levels.
- Submit all purchase orders created to vendors and follow up to ensure receipt
- Ensure all products are purchased within correct price guidelines and with any and all applicable discounts
- Enter order acknowledgements and expected delivery dates from vendors on submitted orders
- Handle vendor returns, ages inventory and canceled orders
- Perform internal inventory audits
- Oversee the evaluation of the cost and quality of goods or services
- Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate daily operations
Education & experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Specialized skills training/certification may be required
- Generally, 2-5 years purchasing and inventory management experience
- Experience working in food manufacturing environment is an asset
- Familiarity with vendor systems and ordering processes
- Strong computer skills with Excel experience
- Fluent in reading, writing and speaking English
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and project management skills
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada on an ongoing basis without company sponsorship
