For over 60 years, Brack Animal Hospital has provided compassionate and advanced veterinary care to our patients in Windsor and surrounding areas. We are searching for full / part time Associate Veterinarians to join our team in promoting animal health and wellness through medical excellence, skilled surgery, honest and open communication, and gentle personalized care for our patients.
The beautiful city of Windsor, Ontario, is an amazing place to live due to its perfect blend of small-town charm and big-city amenities. This very affordable border community has lush parks, boasts a thriving economy and a strong educational system anchored by the University of Windsor. Located between Lake Erie and Lake St. Clair, Windsor is a short drive away from fun and relaxing outdoor adventures such as boating, fishing, windsurfing, and beautiful beaches. Not far from the city, one can visit beautiful Pelee Island with its thriving viticulture industry. With great schools, abundant restaurants, and a vast offering of recreational opportunities, Windsor is a great place to grow.
Job Responsibilities
- Build rapport with clients by gathering information and listening to and empathizing with their concerns.
- Perform physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures that deliver the highest quality care while minimizing patient stress and discomfort.
- Communicate with clients on topics such as pet diagnosis, treatment plans, preventive health care, and nutritional needs.
- Maintain client/patient medical/surgical records and make certain all necessary logs are kept up to date through established protocols.
- Stay current on new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine.
- Present a positive image of the hospital to the professional community and to the public.
- Provide mentorship to new employees and student externs that helps develop the next generation of veterinarian colleagues.
- Work in a communicative and collaborative fashion that focuses on team success.
Skills and Basic Qualifications
- A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or related degree from an accredited university.
- Licensure in good standing to practice in Ontario.
- Commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding the veterinary code of ethics.
- We are looking for an experienced veterinarian but we welcome new graduates
- Willing to perform dental procedures and soft tissue surgeries.
- A great sense of fun and love of working in a team environment.
