**The Position**:
BDS is looking for an experienced Class 1 Driver. The operator is an integral member of the team. You will be responsible for assisting with transportation and placement of loads and materials used in the oil and gas sector. Following company and client policies and procedures, safety and efficiency matter to you.

**The Location**:
The position will be based out of our Camrose location. You will be delivering loads throughout western Canada and possibly the United States. Ability to commute or relocate to Camrose is required.

**Responsibilities**:

- Operate Class 1 equipment in a safe, professional and responsible manner
- Load, unload and safely secure cargo as required
- Communicate effectively with swampers, supervision and other crew members
- Perform pre and post operational inspections including hazard assessments
- Complete relevant paperwork as required by National Safety Code and legal standards in an accurate and timely manner
- Responsible for loading equipment and properly securing loads in a manner that ensures compliance with weight restrictions and government regulations
- To complete job tasks with personal and public safety as a top priority
- Maintain and clean and organized work environment

**Qualifications**:

- Valid Class 1 drivers’ license & must provide 5-year commercial driver’s abstract
- Minimum 2 years experience operating commercial Class 1 vehicle
- Experience with flat deck, van trailers
- Maintain legal driver’s logs using ELD’s (Electronic logging)
- Experience with weight/dimensions and cargo securement
- Must have demonstrated ability to work under mínimal supervision
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
- Familiarity with Western Canada & Potentially USA (Valid passport is considered an asset)
- Willing to work away from home for extended periods of time
- Oilfield experience and valid safety tickets are considered an asset
- Pipe hauling, oversized, multi-axle experience considered an asset
- Experience driving in a mountainous setting is an asset
