Prado Cafe is on the lookout for a passionate and experienced All Rounder who can work the kitchen as a cook grilling sandwiches and making scones, to also serving customers and making coffee. If you have great all around skills and are flexible to use them as needed in the cafe, this is the role for you
What You’ll Be Doing
**Crafting Brunch Delights**: From perfectly poached eggs to grilled sandwiches, you’ll be preparing delicious brunch items for dine-in, take-out, and delivery orders.
**Food Prep & Baking**: Assist with food prep, baking tasks, and creating treats like cookies, ensuring everything meets our quality standards.
**Efficiency & Speed**: You’ll thrive in our fast-paced kitchen, demonstrating excellent multitasking and time management skills.
**Clean & Organized**: Maintain a clean and clutter-free kitchen by following thorough hygiene and cleaning procedures.
**Stock & Inventory**: Handle goods received, store items properly using FIFO procedures, and communicate with the café manager to keep stock in check while minimizing waste.
**Team Collaboration**: Work closely with the front-of-house team and management to deliver top-notch service and food quality.
**Crafting Quality Beverages**: From espresso shots to pour-overs, you’ll brew consistently high-quality coffee and lead the team in maintaining coffee excellence.
**Customer Connection**: Take customer's orders and build meaningful relationships with our regulars and new customers alike, ensuring everyone feels welcome and valued.
What We’re Looking For
Previous experience in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen environment
A passion for food and a keen eye for quality presentation
Food Safe Level 1 certification
Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, and weekends
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stay on your feet for extended periods
Excellent communication skills in English
